There's killer on the loose.....
In Siera Leone a gang attacked four men killing and mutilating one of them and putting two others in the hospital. the group was attacked after entering the Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Armed police are now searching the area for the assailents. 6 of the estimated 24 attackers have already been found. the leader of the group is known as Bruno and is said to be "large, powerfull, and wary of strangers" No one is certain why Bruno's group attacked the men.

gunngirl, I was curious about that too. It seems strange that they killed this guy then "escaped" (or fled as I said) the sanctuary. Makes you wonder just how aware of what they do these chimps are doesn't it?
Chimps are just plain out dangerous. here in California, an older couple had a chimp as a pet for two decades before one day, the chimp up and bit off the dude's nose and clawed out his eyes. The big question I have is why did this guy have a chimp as a pet?
ReplyDeleteTelevision and movies can only use chimps before they are eight years old. By the time they are eight they are to strong and irritable to worked with safely. Or so some PETA flack told Dennis Miller a couple of years ago when he still had a television show.
ReplyDeleteChimpanzees in the wild hunt down and kill male members of rival tribes, and make repeated sorties into enemy territory to do so. There have also been cases documented where several males gang up to assassinate the group leader in his sleep.
ReplyDeleteModern humans don't usually bother to keep the nubile females alive while bashing out all the infants' brains, but other than that, chimps are a lot like us.
